Colour: Chess in the Marle colourway features a classic mid-grey and deep navy blue check. The neutral grey softens the contrast against the darker navy, creating a versatile, understated pattern that is easy to pair with other colours. The fine 3mm check is softened further by the brushed surface of the cotton, which gently blurs the lines and gives the pattern a less rigid appearance. Where the lines cross, they create a subtle dotted, block-like effect that adds texture and interest to the overall design.

Quality: Woven in Japan from fine, two-ply warp yarns, Chess has a soft, brushed cotton handle reminiscent of flannel, without the need for added polyester. At 155gsm, it is lightweight enough to feel comfortable and easy to wear, while the brushed surface brings a cosy warmth without unnecessary bulk. Soft against the skin with a gentle drape, it is a lovely choice for shirts, pyjamas and other comfortable layers for cooler days.

Care instructions: Gentle machine wash. Drip dry or tumble dry. Hot iron. Dry cleanable.

Milled Origin: Japan. All our Japanese cottons meet the Oeko-Tex standard, we only use mills which are certified and checked yearly.
