Colour: Bingo in the Kasuri colourway features a deep indigo-blue base with a white kasuri pattern woven throughout. The traditional pattern creates a beautiful contrast against the dark blue, with the white markings giving the surface a distinctive, textured appearance. Unlike a printed design, the kasuri pattern is woven into the fabric itself, adding to its character and showcasing the craftsmanship behind this traditional Japanese textile.

Quality: Woven in a traditional kimono fabric format, Bingo measures just 36cm wide, making it a rare find. Our most recent supplier had thoughtfully held onto this special weave knowing we were coming, and we honestly couldn't be more excited to have secured it for Potter & Co.

Kimono fabrics like Bingo are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and their narrow width is part of what makes them so special. Traditionally intended for kimono construction, the fabric can also be pieced together to create more familiar cotton garments, with a little extra planning and fabric allowance. It can also be kept the size it is for different smaller, homewares projects. The cotton has a slightly open weave that allows for lovely airflow, with a lightweight feel and a naturally crisp, slightly firm handle. It has a touch of texture and structure without feeling heavy, making it an interesting choice for relaxed shirts, lightweight jackets and unique statement pieces.

Care instructions: Gentle machine wash. Drip dry or tumble dry. Hot iron. Dry cleanable.

Milled Origin: Japan. All our Japanese cottons meet the Oeko-Tex standard, we only use mills which are certified and checked yearly. Potter & Co has been in the business for 25 plus years and built up a solid relationship with the mills we work with and sourcing agents. We really pride ourselves on this as we know we can trust the mills we use for quality and standard.
