Colour: Wallace is a bold and vibrant retro-inspired plaid on a classic black base. Fire-engine red, sunny yellow and rich cobalt blue come together to create a striking primary-colour check, with a warm charcoal grey running through the background to add depth and soften the overall contrast.

Fine 3mm red stripes repeat throughout the plaid, with 3mm sunny yellow accent stripes appearing every 125mm. A bold 13mm cobalt-sapphire blue stripe sits alongside each yellow stripe, while the wider charcoal grey bands cross through the background of the design. The combination creates a fun, nostalgic plaid with serious retro character. Bright and playful without feeling flat, Wallace uses the charcoal and black to ground the vibrant primary colours and give the overall check plenty of depth.

Quality: Wallace is made from 100% wool with a soft, comfortable handle and none of the scratchy feel often associated with wool. At 240gsm, it has enough weight to feel substantial while still retaining a subtle, natural drape. The fabric sits beautifully between structured and fluid, making it particularly well suited to garments where you want some shape and movement. Think sharp pleats, tailored trousers and beautiful wide-leg pants that allow the fabric to show off its weight and drape.

Milled Origin: Japan. All our Japanese cottons meet the Oeko-Tex standard, we only use mills which are certified and checked yearly. Potter Textiles has been in the business for 25 plus years and built up a solid relationship with the mills we work with and sourcing agents.
